Period Features is a small company, and we plan to keep it that way! Staying small allows us to offer the friendly, personal service for which we have become known. We don’t want our customers to feel like just another number – we carefully track every order from the point it is received until the moment of dispatch, and provide excellent communication along the way. This means you will always know when your order has been received, when it has been dispatched and when you can expect it.

Internet companies often seem very impersonal, so we thought it would be nice if you could see who you were dealing with:

Suzy Dymock is the enthusiastic, creative owner of Period Features, together with her husband Jonathan. Before taking over the business, she gained a degree in sculpture and worked as a prop-maker for some time. Suzy then worked as a buyer for a local department store and was an art teacher in various schools in Derbyshire and Staffordshire. She and Jonathan live in an old farmhouse which they have lovingly restored, located in an idyllic Peak District village with a very scenic trip to work! They also have two children, two dogs, three savage cats and six chickens (at the last count).

Jonathan Dymock is the co-owner of Period Features, together with his wife Suzy. Previously, he spent 15 years working in logistics (so if your parcel doesn't turn up, he's the man you need to speak to!). He enjoys life in the Peak District and is a very keen angler, with an interest in dry-stone walling and organic farming. Period Features is the first business that he and Suzy have owned and they are very much enjoying this new challenge.

Tracey Cartlidge has a degree in fine art and used to have her own shop in Columbia Road, the heart of London’s East End. This makes her vastly over-qualified to work at Period Features, and we are very lucky to have her! Multi-talented Tracey is one of our managers, and is also in charge of the Farrow & Ball showroom at the shop. In her spare time, she works on her own range of contemporary art pieces and renovates her home.

Jo Tamblyn is one of our managers and very good she is too, particularly as she's the only one who really knows how to use the computer! Her varied career path has included being in the TA, working as an air hostess, a brief spell in accountancy and travelling all over the world with the army. Back on Civvy Street, she now lives in a lovely Victorian house in Leek with her two children, two rabbits, one cat and a very large dog. She also does sugaring, which sadly for us has nothing to do with cakes but is instead the ancient Arabic art of hair removal.

Susie Eardley is one of our wonderful part-time shop assistants (we collared her while she was shopping with us one day). She lives in a nearby Staffordshire village and is married with three boys. Susie has had exotic careers as a flower importer (she even worked in Kenya for a while) and grain trader. She studied agriculture at college. This is her first job since spending the last ten years as a full-time mum!

Charlotte is our Saturday girl but is much more than that!
In her other life she works full time as is a teaching assistant and has plans to qualify as an art teacher soon.
She is the baby of the Period Features Team but has a genuine passion for all our products new and old.
She has a degree in photography and her creative and bubbly personality makes her perfect for helping customers

Penny is our continuity girl; she works full time and knows what’s going on!
Penny’s diverse career has included working as an air stewardess and as a consultant for one of Farrow & Balls national competitors.
Her art and design roots eventually lead her to qualify in interior design, specialising in painted interiors. She ran her own business painting bespoke kitchens and furniture.
Her job nowadays requires her to spend less time on her knees with a paintbrush and she shares all her skills and experience with our customers.
Penny is responsible for our fantastic and highly acclaimed window dressings and can often be seen wrestling with our products in cramped spaces!
